Regulations about Livestock Transportation say that livestock transportation needs to be monitored to ensure the welfare of the animals that are being transported. Livestock transportation monitoring solutions can be very unobtrusive, simple to use and cost effective.
Livestock transportation monitoring devices monitor the ventilation and temperature on the vehicle transporting the animals to ensure that the transportation is providing a safe and a minimal stressed journey for the livestock that is being transported.
The thermal comfort range for horses is estimated to be between 0°C and 24°C (32-75°F). We provide solutions that can be fitted in the drivers cabin and will show the air temperature of the horses compartment. Our units will display an alarm if the temperature raises to low or high and can provide a log for the whole journey.
Working the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary we provided a temperature data logger to record and display the temperature while transporting exotic animals.

Livestock transportation monitoring is a requirement by law and is the duty of the vehicle owner to provide sufficient livestock transportation monitoring. Not only must the environmental conditions be monitored but they must also be recorded, so livestock transportation monitoring solutions should collect data and be able to either print out the transportation data at the end of the journey and/or transmit the information remotely to a main control point.
Livestock transportation monitoring regulations not only apply to large articulated livestock vehicles transporting livestock, but also to smaller such as rigid horse transport vehicles, four wheel drive vehicles with a small trailer and rigid livestock vehicles.
“No person shall transport animals or cause animals to be transported in a way that is likely to cause injury or undue suffering to them” (Source: Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations and amending Directives)
