Server Room Monitoring and Data Centre Control systems allow users to remotely monitor temperature, humidity and other conditions of their server room. Remote monitoring is done via IP so you can access sensor information on your network, via the Internet or GSM network.
These server room monitoring systems are simple to set up and operate and will monitor a number of parameters.
All our server room monitoring products are designed to be simple to use and most come with intuitive software, for keeping a history of recorded environmental events. Most our monitoring devices can easily to connected to third-party software via SNMP. In short Sensormetirx = Easy Server Room Monitoring.
Our systems make sure your IT infrastructure environment is measured and controlled efficiently. Alarm conditions can be set and warn of critical conditions over email and/or SMS. Some products can also use SNMP and SNMP Trap to send warning to your existing monitoring applications
These products are being used in many other environments other than Server Rooms, examples being Zoos, Warehouses, Laboratories, Museums and many NHS applications.

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a widely used protocol designed to facilitate the management of networked devices from a central location. It is a UDP-based network protocol.
If you're running NAGIOS on your network then we have the perfect temperature, humidity and light monitoring system for you. The EM01b is recommended by NAGIOS on their website as a perfect solution to monitor your server room and plugin to their software. Can be found in our Simple Install Internal Probes Section below.
1. Access Control: The server room should only be accessed by relevant/trained members of your workforce or vetted contractors. Unauthorised access in a server room should never be allowed as either intentional sabotage or an innocent mishap could occur, both can cause serious damage to the running of your systems and business.
2. No Drinks: We’ve all knocked over a cup of coffee while sitting at our desk so now imagine doing that in a server rack full of servers, switches, PBX, and a firewall. Why take the risk.
3. Environmental Monitoring: Your server room should not go under 10°C (50°F) or above 28°C (82°F) but ideally the temperature should be kept between 20-21°C (68-71°F) This is no easy task specially in the UK where the weather is a daily surprise. Also flood detectors are recommended as server room equipment will not react well to liquid.
4. Regular Back-ups: Always prepare for the worst, so make sure at the end of every day you take a backup of your hard disks. This way if your server does ever break-down you can quickly get in a new server and load a recent copy of your systems and be up and running without serious loss of data.
5. Backup Power Source: If your electricity source is cut or even surges for any reason your server room equipment can be adversely affected. By installing a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) you can safe guard any power loss by giving your servers enough time to safely shut-down before losing power. Plus most new UPS systems can protect against electricity power surges/spikes.
